MAZABI strengthens its portfolio of assets with the acquisition of the Hotel Cap Roig Nature

MAZABI, a company specialized in real estate family wealth management, has completed the acquisition of the Hotel Cap Roig Nature and a rustic plot of 10,000 m2, located next to a cliff in L´Ampolla (Tarragona) through Atalaya Hospitality, SL, an open vehicle for investments in hotels. The hotel has three stars with a goal of four, 139 apartment-style rooms and has a wide variety of services and activities within a unique natural environment.

The acquisition it has been done through a Sale & LeasebackIn such a way that The Palm Experience —the current operator of the hotel— will remain the operator of the hotel until December 2022.

Located on the seafront, 900 meters from Baconer Beach and two kilometers from the center of L´Ampolla, the property offers unbeatable views of the sea and the unique landscape of the Ebro Delta Natural Park. As an added value, it allows Guests enjoy recreational activities such as mountain biking, hiking, and archery. In addition, the complex is located just 10 minutes by car from the Fangar Lighthouse and 30 minutes from PortAventura.

This operation is framed within strategic growth plan of MAZABI and its commitment to grow in the hotel segment. The property is located in Tarragona, a province that has recovered in record time the figures for prepandemic tourism, thanks to the national and French client.

Following this acquisition, MAZABI adds a new property to its portfolio of hotel assets, which is already made up of 21 hotels – between urban / tourist and holiday – which represent an estimated global valuation above 520 million euros. “We are very happy to be able to incorporate the Hotel Cap Roig Nature into our portfolio of assets, because it is an asset with great potential, which fits perfectly into the portfolio of hotels that we have in our portfolio,” said Juan Antonio Gutiérrez, CEO of MAZABI.

This is the fifth operation within the hotel segment that the company has executed this year. Since January, MAZABI has acquired four more assets, two of them operated by Soho Boutique Hotels located in Córdoba and Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz). The others are a building for hotel use that is located in the center of Madrid, and will be operated by Room Hostels & Hotels; and a newly built four-star hotel in Menorca, acquired by MAZABI through its Socimi SILICIUS, which is operated by Barceló Group.

MAZABI’s objective continues to be the creation of a solvent and complementary hotel portfolio and to gradually incorporate both private and institutional investors to gain diversification and size.
