The Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sanchez, announced this Tuesday that the agreement reached last Friday with the carriers will be analyzed today in the Council of Ministers and it will be included in a royal decree law that will be submitted for approval “before the end of February”.
During her speech on the program “La hora de la 1” on TVE, the minister added that any proposal made to guarantee the sustainability of the road network, such as the payment of tolls, will have to be agreed with the carriers, and must be “fair and balanced” and guarantee the fulfillment of the climate change objectives.
Sánchez has congratulated himself on this agreement, that he has described as “historic”, that it will help build a much more competitive economy, and that it has avoided the stoppages announced by truckers for these days before Christmas.
Likewise, he has trusted that the conference of regional presidents called for tomorrow will produce the maximum consensus to decide the most appropriate measures to contain the spread of the virus and has appealed to citizens to comply with security measures and be vaccinated.
Regarding the return to the restrictions decided by the Generalitat of Catalonia, the minister has shown your total respect and he recalled that each autonomy has to decide the measures that best protect its population based on their situation.
He has also said that the decision of the president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, to dismiss the four councilors appointed by Ciudadanos, including that of Health, “in the middle of the sixth wave”, is “bad news “because what the population needs now is institutional stability.
It was “a pity” that Mañueco was not yesterday “where he was supposed to be”, which was “celebrating the inauguration of the AVE to Galicia”, he said.
