The Executive approved last September a rise of 15 euros per month in the SMI to 965 euros
The Government is going to extend the minimum interprofessional wage (SMI) in the current 965 euros gross monthly in 14 payments until the amount for 2022 is negotiated with employers and unions.
According to sources from the Ministry of Labor, What comes out of this negotiation may be retroactive, that is, be applied with effect from January 1, as has happened on other occasions.
Thus, the council of ministers this Tuesday will do, according to La Información, it will be an extension of the current figures waiting to sit down with social agents.
The Ministry of Labor always pointed out that these negotiations would be done after closing those of the labor reform, that concluded last week with an agreement that is approved this Tuesday.
The unions had already indicated that, once the labor reform was closed, They were going to demand the increase of the minimum wage SMI to 1,000 euros in 2022, something to which in principle the employer’s association refuses.
