Siemens Gamesa to supply 42 wind turbines to a 260 MW wind farm in Sweden

This agreement brings the joint project portfolio of Siemens-Gamesa and Eolus to 450 MW. Hydro REIN is the co-owner of the project with a 49% stake.

The wind farm, located in the municipalities of Timra and Sundsvall, will be installed in 2023 and will use those 42 ‘SG 6.6-170′ wind turbines, the most powerful onshore model from the turbine manufacturer that emerged from the merger between Gamesa and Siemens’ wind power division. The towers of these turbines will measure between 115 and 123 meters high.

In addition, the agreement includes the maintenance of the park for 25 years, which guarantees optimum performance during the life of the turbines.

The Stor-Skälsjön park thus joins a long list of projects for the Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform, which has already exceeded 3.5 gigawatts (GW) in agreements around the world since its launch. With more than 1.5 GW, the Swedish market is the one that accumulates the most projects with this technology.
