Uncertainty for European futures in the last session of the year

Asian markets fell on a slow Thursday, with the omicron spread clouding the last session of the year for many exchanges, while oil was about to end the year with gains of more than 50%.

S&P 500 ESc1 and Nasdaq NQc1 futures were flat, while EUROSTOXX 50 STXEc1 futures were up 0.1% and FTSE FFIc1 futures were down 0.1%.

Oil prices extended their streak of several consecutive days of gains on Thursday, fueled by data showing demand for fuel in the United States holding up well despite rising infections from the omicron variant of the coronavirus.
