The Spanish government gives 13.8 million euros to twelve Catalan projects to boost the competitiveness of the commercial sector

The Spanish government, through the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, has granted 13.8 million euros to twelve Catalan projects to boost the competitiveness of the commercial section. Catalonia is the community that receives the most funding (13.4% of the total) and the second that presents the most proposals, only surpassed by Andalusia.

The most outstanding project, with an aid of 8.1 million euros, consists of the economic rehabilitation of local markets and shops from Barcelona. Other cities that will also benefit from the aid are Mataró (1.4 million euros), Esplugues de Llobregat (750,000 euros) or Solsona (400,000 euros). In the whole of the State, the executive has distributed aid for 103.1 million euros to finance 110 projects.

The aid to Catalonia will be aimed at promoting the growth of eight sustainable urban markets and one rural market, as well as promoting three areas of tourist influx. Apart from the subsidy in the Catalan capital, the Barcelona Provincial Council will receive 786,900 euros to accelerate digital transformation and commercial sector modernization in ten high-density commercial urban areas. It is the same city of Barcelona, ​​Berga, Cardona, Granollers, Mataró, Mollet del Vallès, Terrassa, Sabadell, Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú.
