Sony presents the first TV with QD-OLED: this is the new Bravia XR 2022 range and its renewed panel technology

We already know the new Sony Bravia XR 2022 televisions And after many years betting on the same panel technologies, Sony has decided to make a leap to its range of TVs with the incorporation of the latest panels available. This is from the Mini LED to the expected new generation QD-OLED panels manufactured by Samsung, as it happens that Sony has anticipated Samsung itself with the presentation of the Sony A95K Bravia XR, the first television with QD-OLED technology.

These are all the characteristics of the new Sony televisions for 2022. Models that again incorporate Google TV, have improved their XR cognitive processor and the placement of the internal speakers has been readjusted to obtain a more profiled audio.

A new generation of OLED panels for Sony’s flagship TV

The Sony Master Series A95K will be the new reference of the Japanese company for 2022. We are before a television available in 55 and 65 inches that incorporates the new QD-OLED panels, with quantum dots and that promise a powerful increase in brightness thanks to the reproduction of RGB colors through a matrix of nanocrystals. Sony opts to replace the LG Display panels with the new Samsung Display panels on its flagship model.

One more year, Sony bets on the internal processor XR Cognitive, which despite not changing its name has received some updates in its algorithms to try to improve the feeling of immersion produced by the images. Something similar happens at the sound level, where the A95K has restructured its speakers to adapt them to the new QD-OLED panel. A system of two activators and two subwoofers of 20W and 10W respectively, for a total of 60W.

Qd Oled

Along with QD-OLED, Sony incorporates the new technology XR Triluminos Max to take advantage of improved color and luminance offered by these new OLED panels.

Regarding its design, Sony returns to the aesthetics of a television without apparent legs. The stand will have two positions: either rear to be completely covered or front, if we want to bring it closer to the wall.

Sony Z9K: Mini LED and 8K resolution

If in the OLED model they have chosen to incorporate a new technology, their more advanced FullLED model is also renewed with the incorporation of Mini LED panels. The Sony Master Series Z9K is the renewal of the Z9J, its large-inch 8K model. In addition to the same processor improvements as the OLED model, the Sony Z9K comes with an XR Backlight Master Drive backlight system to manage Mini LED technology.

According to Sony, the company has taken a little longer than the competition to bet on this technology because the increase in brightness it allows usually causes halos and more ‘blooming’. One more year, Sony focuses on its algorithms and processing to try to differentiate itself from rivals, since the technology of the panels is not its own.

OLED panels up to 42 inches, Google TV and Bravia Cam
